HOW DO I SMOOTH WALLS, CEILINGS AND PLASTERBOARDS BY A ROLLER?
Our product will help you Smooth Walls, Ceilings and Plasterboards by a Roller! Also ŚMIG A-8 has much more functions. For more info check below.

Product properties
PERFECTLY WHITE
ŚMIG A-8 wet mortar and finished dry layer are white.
FLEXIBLE AND RESISTANT TO CRACKING
The ŚMIG A-8 Finish is highly flexible and resistant to cracking after drying and bonding. NOTE! The product reaches its structural stability, flexibility and adhesion only after drying and bonding have been completed.
ECONOMICAL AND CONVENIENT
The ŚMIG A-8 Finish is intended for immediate application after opening. Work can be interrupted at any time by tightly closing the bucket. After the next opening, the finish can be used again. The ŚMIG A-8 should be applied straight from the bucket without any preparation. This makes the product very convenient to use and saves up to 10% of time (no need for traditional gypsum mortar preparation). Thanks to the use of the entire bucket content, the product is also more economical than traditional mortars.
HIGH ADHESIVENESS
ŚMIG A-8 adhesiveness to the surface exceeds the requirements of the standard.
LAYER THICKNESS UP TO 2 mm
ŚMIG A-8 can be applied in up to 2 mm layers. It is due to the recommended application technique, but if thicker layers are applied, the surface may crack after drying.
BONDING TIME UP TO 4 H
Bonding and drying time depends on water evaporation rate. For 1–2 mm thick layer at +20°C and good ventilation, the compound dries and bonds within 3–4 hours. Paint may be applied after about 4 hours. Bonding and drying period is extended by lower ambient temperature, increased humidity, or no ventilation. ATTENTION: The product does not bond if the temperature is below +10°C. Despite water evaporation, the polymer fails to create cross-links, which deprives the product of integrity and strength.

ŚMIG A-8 - apply straight from the bucket
A maximum 2 mm layer of ŚMIG should be applied directly from the bucket! Product can be used later on only when bucket is closed correctly.
how to use
1. Surface preparation
The product can be applied to any typical substrate, including wood-based, deformable surfaces, and to old paint coatings, provided the substrate is stable, clean and dry. The surface should be stable, clean, free of grease, soot, flaking and unstable paint coatings (cleaning with water under pressure or detergents). Wetting of the substrate is not recommended as it reduces the adhesion of the product. No priming is necessary. If the substrate stability is uncertain, it is recommended to use the ŚMIG K-15 Universal Primer.
2. Application with a paint roller
Apply the compound with a short pile or synthetic roller (wallpaper roller). Remember not to exceed 2 mm layer thickness. The next stage is to level and smoothen the surface of the coat. Do not wait until the compound develops a film (a specific skin on the surface) as it will prevent smoothing. Smoothen the surface with a special tool for smoothing and levelling. It has a flexible plastic knife, which makes it easier to level thin layers of putty.
3. Application using the traditional method
Apply a layer of ŚMIG A-8 up to 2 mm using a stainless-steel plastering trowel, taping knife. After the surface is completely dry, sand down any irregularities and bumps after application with a sanding sponge, grit size 180–240.
4. Next layer
If any irregularities emerged after the sanding, apply a second layer locally or over the whole surface. It should be as thin as possible. When completely dry, sand again with grit 220–240 sanding sponge until the surface is perfectly smooth.
