ŚMIG A-2

HOW DO I SMOOTH WALLS, CEILINGS AND PLASTERBOARDS?
Our product will help you Smooth Walls, Ceilings and Plasterboards! Also ŚMIG A-2 has much more functions. For more info check below.

Product properties
PERFECTLY WHITE
ŚMIG A-2 wet mortar and finished dry layer are white.
FLEXIBLE AND RESISTANT TO CRACKING
The ŚMIG A-2 Finish is highly flexible and resistant to cracking after drying and bonding. NOTE! The product reaches its structural stability, flexibility and adhesion only after drying and bonding have been completed.
ECONOMICAL AND CONVENIENT
The ŚMIG A-2 Finish is intended for immediate application after opening and mixing. Work can be interrupted at any time by tightly closing the bucket. After the next opening, the finish can be used again. The ŚMIG A-2 should be applied straight from the bucket. This makes the product very convenient to use and saves up to 10% of time (no need for traditional gypsum mortar preparation). Thanks to the use of the entire bucket content, the product is also more economical than traditional mortars.
HIGH ADHESIVENESS
ŚMIG A-2 adhesiveness to the surface exceeds the requirements of the standard.
LAYER THICKNESS UP TO 5 mm
Since a layer thinner than 1 mm can be applied, the overall use of the product is significantly reduced. The maximum thickness of a single layer is 5 mm. If the layer is thicker, the surface may crack after drying.
BONDING TIME UP TO 1-2 H
The mortar bonding time is approximately 1-2 hours for a 1 mm layer and approximately 24 hours for a 5 mm layer (at +20°C and with good ventilation). Bonding time may increase or decrease depending on temperature and humidity. A temperature below +10°C stops bonding.

ŚMIG A-2 - apply straight from the bucket
A maximum 5 mm layer of ŚMIG should be applied directly from the bucket! Product can be used later on only when bucket is closed correctly.
how to apply ŚMIG A-2?

Plastering trowel
Ready to apply directly from the bucket!

roller
Apply by a roller with adding 300 ml of water to 20 kg of ŚMIG A-2.

spray
Apply by spray with adding from 100 to 400 ml of water to 20 kg of ŚMIG A-2.

drywall taping tool
Apply by a drywall taping tool with adding 400 ml of water to 20 kg of ŚMIG A-2.
you can aplly ŚMIG A-2 using a roller!
ON WHICH SURFACES USE ŚMIG A-2?
The product can be applied to any typical substrate, including wood-based, deformable surfaces, and to old paint coatings, provided the substrate is stable, clean and dry. The surface should be stable, clean, free of grease, soot, flaking and unstable paint coatings (cleaning with water under pressure or detergents). Wetting of the substrate is not recommended as it reduces the adhesion of the product. No priming is necessary. If the substrate stability is uncertain, it is recommended to use the Universal Primer.

ŚMIG A-2 functions

walls, ceilingsand plasterboardS smoothing
To achieve a perfect finish, wait for the first layer to dry before applying subsequent layers, ensuring each new layer is thinner. Alternatively, sand out any imperfections using abrasive paper.

PLASTERBOARDS JOINTING with tape
A-2 should be applied and left to dry while filling slots of max. 3-5 mm and 1-2 mm between prefabricated and manually cut edges, respectively. Then another thin layer of A-2 should be applied

FILLING
Surface repair must be carried out by pressing the product into a cavity, provided that the cavity does not exceed 5 mm. After drying, apply the second layer.
smooth out the surface with:

For the first smooting out of our surface we highly recomend smoothing blades. The best size to use with ŚMIG A-2 is beetween 20 and 80 cm. Usually smoothing blades are made from aluminum or plastic. The ones made from aluminum are more durable and resistant to mechanical damage. Some producers also offer the function of replaceable steel blades, which allows an easy replacement of the tool when the sheet metal is bent.
How to use
1. Surface preparation
2. Application
The product is suitable for machine or manual application straight from the bucket using clean stainless steel tools. Apply at temperatures between +10 and +40°C. Spread in layers of up to 5 mm. The next layer can be applied after the previous one has been fully hardened.
3. Dry grinding
Dry grinding involves the application of one or two layers of wet finish and grinding the surface after drying. Initial grinding with 80-100 grit sand paper or mesh. Final grinding with 180-240 grit sand paper or mesh. If the first layer is not even, it is recommended to apply the locally or apply its thinner layer.
4. Mechanical smoothing
The finish is also intended for mechanical smoothing, using a drywall sander. The mechanical smoothing significantly reduces the release of dust by suction and vacuum mechanism.
5. Next layer
Before applying another layer and before painting, it is essential to remove dust from the surface or to bond it to the surface. When removing dust, use clean brushes or the Universal Primer. Primer must be applied using a paint roller or a spray gun. After removing dust or drying of the primer, the smooth surface is ready for painting.
